Odd Christian Eiking (Wanty) kom inn med første gruppe på den kuperte 2. etappen i Tour of Oman onsdag. Askøyværingen som åpnet sesongen med 2.plass i Grand Prix la MarMarseillaise tok en sterk 12.plass da han krysset målstreken på samme tid som etappevinner Nathan Haas (Katusha-Alpecin)
Alexander Kristoff (UAE Team Emirates) kjørte raskt ned fra siste fjell og bokførte seg en 17.plass, 38 sekunder bak. Sindre Lunke fullførte etappe på 55.plass et drøyt minutt bak.
